Yes, assessing whether a method can be automated is where every Alsys project starts. Alsys employs chemists alongside robot engineers, so your existing method and SOPs are evaluated by people who understand the chemistry, not only the mechanical handling — which is what determines whether and how a method can be automated reliably.

For methods that are new or unproven in automation, Alsys can run an Automation Study: a prototyping phase in which the required modules are built and run on your actual samples before any full system is committed to.

Timelines vary considerably with the complexity of the system and the method being automated. A Design Study takes four to eight weeks and produces the layout, risk analysis and budgetary quotation; where a new method needs proving, an Automation Study adds a further prototyping phase before manufacture begins.

Because systems are built to order rather than held in stock, current production capacity also affects delivery timing. Alsys will give a realistic indication of lead times for your specific project as part of the quotation process.
